What the bar is for

A rebounder's mat gives under your feet, and for the first few sessions that feels less steady than a floor. The bar gives you a fixed point to touch while you get used to it. One hand resting on it is usually enough.

It is for light balance support. It is not a rail to lean your weight on, hang from or pull against, and BERG does not give a separate weight limit for it. Stand tall, keep your grip loose, and let your legs do the work.

The bar does not make you fitter or the exercise safer by itself. What it does is make the first weeks less daunting, and that can be the difference between using the rebounder and not.

Who tends to want it

  • Beginners. If you have never stood on a rebounder, a handle takes the worry out of the first sessions.
  • Older adults. Something to hold when stepping on and off, and while bouncing. Our guide to rebounders for older adults covers what to check first.
  • People returning to exercise. After a long break, confidence often comes back more slowly than fitness.
  • Anyone who feels unsteady. If your balance is affected by a health condition, talk to a GP or chartered physiotherapist before you buy.

If you are confident on your feet and want the least to store, the same rebounder without the bar is €369. See the Fitness Trampoline 110.

The bar in detail

The handle of the BERG stability bar

Clicks on and off without tools

The bar clicks into the rebounder's frame and comes off the same way. You can take it off to store the rebounder, or leave it off once you no longer want it.

Phone holder on the BERG stability bar

Phone holder built in

The bar has an integrated holder for your phone, so a timer or your music sits in front of you. The bar is also compatible with BERG's bottle holder, which is sold separately.

What we do not know about the bar

BERG publishes less about the bar than about the rebounder, and we would sooner say so than fill the gaps. We do not have:

  • the height of the bar, or whether the height can be adjusted
  • a separate weight limit for the bar
  • the weight of the product, or its thickness when folded

If any of these would decide it for you, particularly bar height if you are very tall or buying for someone shorter, ring us on 01 960 1641. We will check with BERG and come back to you.

Is it worth €80 more?

The rebounder with the bar is €449. Without it, the same rebounder is €369. The €80 between them buys the bar and its phone holder, nothing else.

Pay it if

You are unsure of your balance, you are buying for someone who is, or you suspect you will not use a rebounder at all unless there is something to hold.

Save it if

You are steady on your feet and already active. You are unlikely to reach for a bar once the mat feels familiar.

Setting it up

It arrives mostly assembled. BERG's listing says it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to set up: unfold the legs and click in the bar.

Using the bar safely

  • Rest a hand on the bar. Do not lean on it, hang from it or pull against it.
  • Stand upright. Do not hunch forward over the bar while you bounce.
  • Start low, with your feet barely leaving the mat, and keep the first sessions short.
  • Do not step on the edge of the frame when getting on or off.
  • Jump without shoes: barefoot or in grip socks.
  • Keep one metre clear on every side and 2.4 m overhead, never under a light fitting or ceiling fan.
  • One person at a time, aged over 14, up to 120 kg.

The point about posture has a reason. A 2023 case series described seven adults, average age 63, who were found to have compression fractures in the spine a few weeks after taking up mini-trampoline exercise. Four of the seven had confirmed osteoporosis. The authors suspected a hunched posture while gripping the bar with both hands, and said themselves that this explanation is unproven. Seven cases cannot tell us how common this is. If you have osteoporosis or have had a spinal fracture, get advice before you start.

This is general information, not medical advice. If you are pregnant or recently gave birth, have osteoporosis or a previous spinal fracture, a heart condition, pelvic floor symptoms, a balance disorder, a recent operation or injury, or have not exercised in a long time, talk to your GP or a chartered physiotherapist before you start.

What the research says about rebounding

Questions about the stability bar

How much is the rebounder with the handle?

€449 with free delivery in Ireland, checked on 9 October 2026. That is €80 more than the same rebounder without the bar. The shop page always shows the current price and stock.

How tall is the bar, and can the height be adjusted?

We do not know. BERG does not publish the bar's height or say whether it adjusts, and we will not guess. Ring us on 01 960 1641 and we will check with BERG before you order.

Can I lean on the bar or pull against it?

No. The bar is for light balance support: a hand resting on it while you bounce. It is not for leaning your weight on or pulling against. We do not have a separate weight limit for the bar from BERG.

Can I take the bar off?

Yes. It clicks into the frame without tools and comes off the same way, so you can use the rebounder with or without it and store the two pieces separately.

Is the rebounder itself different from the one without the bar?

No. It is the BERG Fitness Trampoline 110 in both cases: 110 cm frame, 36 elastic bands, folding legs and a 120 kg maximum user weight.

Does the bottle holder come with it?

No. The bar has a phone holder built in. It is compatible with BERG's bottle holder, which is sold separately.

Is it suitable for an older adult?

A handle gives an older adult something to hold when stepping on and off, but a bar does not make rebounding right for everyone. Anyone with osteoporosis, a previous spinal fracture, a balance disorder or a heart condition should talk to a GP or chartered physiotherapist first, and start gently.
